1. Agency Role
Rubirizi Agency operates as a Tax Consultancy and Customs Clearing firm. We act as agents to facilitate the customs clearance process with the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and other relevant stakeholders. Professional tax consultation services are available for a standard fee of 200,000 UGX.
2. Cargo Consolidation
- The Agency offers consolidation services for clients with Less than Container Load (LCL) shipments to maximize cost efficiency. Pricing for small cargo consolidation starts at 300,000 UGX.
- Consolidated cargo is subject to the arrival and processing timelines of the entire container; individual release is only possible once the master consignment is cleared.
- Clients are responsible for accurate labeling and itemization of goods within a consolidated shipment to prevent sorting delays.
3. Third-Party Delays & Liability
- The Agency shall not be held liable for delays caused by third-party entities, including but not limited to shipping lines, port authorities, or government inspection agencies.
- We are not responsible for storage charges (demurrage) resulting from third-party delays or the late submission of original documents by the client.
- In the event of "Force Majeure" (strikes, extreme weather, or civil unrest), the Agency will prioritize cargo safety but cannot guarantee standard timelines.
4. Payment Terms
- To benefit from the 10% Early Settlement discount, the agreed fee must be settled before the customs declaration is finalized.
- All quoted fees are negotiable and subject to review based on the complexity of the cargo or consultancy services required.
5. Client Responsibilities
- The client must provide accurate, authentic, and complete documentation for all imports and exports.
- Failure to disclose the true nature of cargo may result in legal penalties from authorities, for which the client remains solely responsible.
